Who Am I?
My name is Martijn Veldhuizen, I'm a creative allround sports photographer with a passion for capturing movement, energy, and emotion in sport. My goal is not only to capture the moment itself, but also the story behind it — the focus, the tension, and the power of the game. With an eye for detail and composition, I bring the intensity of sport to life — from the calm before the action to the release that follows.
What I Do
Action & Timing
Sport rewards patience more than instinct — most of a shoot is waiting for the one moment worth the shutter. I read the rhythm of a race, a match, or a run to be in position before it happens, not after.
Editing & Color
Every photo gets the same careful pass in post: exposure, color, and crop tuned until the image matches what it actually felt like to stand there. Consistency across a set matters as much as any single frame.
Visual Storytelling
A single shot rarely tells the whole story. Photo Stories — the ongoing series on this site — pairs images with the moments around them: the wait, the tension, the release, not just the result.
